Food from all over the world can be found here, including some absolutely incredible sushi places. If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy fantastic sushi while you’re in the area, then you’re in luck! We’ve compiled this list of our favorite spots. From traditional sushi restaurants to places serving a full Japanese menu, here are some of the best places to sate your sushi craving when you’re in Columbus, OH.

Kooma Sushi Restaurant

Situated near the North Market, between Park Street and High Street, Kooma is the place to go for sushi and sashimi. There are over 200 different sushi rolls on the menu, including a ton of spicy options and even some vegetarian rolls too. Fillings include snow crab, eel, spicy shrimp tempura, and salmon teriyaki; and for those who prefer to eat meat, there are also chicken and beef options too.
Kooma also serves up sashimi and nigiri, and these come prepared with a wide variety of exotic and tasty seafood. Beyond the basics of salmon and tuna, the chefs here also rustle up scallops, octopus, oysters, sea urchins, and flying fish roe.

Akai Hana

If you’re looking to eat more than just sushi, head over to Akai Hana. Located on Old Henderson Road, this oriental establishment serves up traditional Japanese and Korean food such as ramen, bibimbap, and sukiyaki. Of course, sushi and sashimi platters are also available, the largest of which includes 16 pieces of the best fish available that day, selected by the chef.
If you fancy a true taste of the far east, then why not compliment your meal with a bottle of classic Japanese sake? There are over 10 different bottles available, and, in true Japanese style, you can also order hot sake. If you’re drinking with your meal, then please remember to always drink responsibly, never drink and drive, and ensure that everyone who is drinking, is of the legal drinking age.

Rishi Sushi Kitchen and Bar

With its modern, spacious bar and outdoor seating area, it’s hard to miss Rishi Sushi. Exclusively serving up sushi and nigiri, plates can be ordered for as low as $3. However, if going as a group, we highly recommend the party trays. Filled with the chef’s selection of fresh nigiri and rolls, these come in different sizes depending on how many are in your group but can go all the way up to a whopping 64 pieces.
Rishi Sushi is also a great place to check out if there are vegetarians in your group, as this spot offers up loads of vegetarian sushi including a bean curd roll and a squash California roll.
