This lovely spot serves up the smooth, delicious dessert in a variety of flavors. The company started in Cincinnati so you can be sure you’re tucking into a little bit of Ohio state’s history. They have ‘foundation flavors’ such as Birthday Cake, Butter Pecan and Dutch Chocolate as well as ‘seasonal flavors’ that change every month. You can check their website to learn more. You can also buy cakes, a specialty of Graeter’s. The service is always friendly, the toppings homemade, and the customers always happy. We recommend Black Cherry Chip.
3. Mardi Gras
This sweet little place is a one-off gem serving tropical and unique flavors in a humble, kinda retro setting. The owner makes all the flavors by hand and loves to experiment. She uses less sugar, making them a healthier option than the larger stores. Flavors include classic crowd-pleasers such as Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, and Coffee but also Guava, Ginger, Mango, Lychee, and Green Tea. We recommend the Kesar Pista.
4. Cafe Davinci
This place also doubles up as an Italian Cafe serving up delicious sandwiches, parmigiana, and more, so it’s perfect if a member of your party wants a savory meal. Their creamy and authentically Italian gelato selection includes Dulce De Leche, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Salty Snickers. This is a family-run business and everything is handmade, although the decor is casual and simple you can be sure to have a great eating experience here. We recommend Peanut Butter and Chocolate – if they have it!
5. Johnson’s
The sweet treats here are all locally made and have been enjoyed by the locals since 1950. They carry a huge range of flavors Traditional, Specialty Line, Dairy-Free, Sorbet, Yoghurt, and Sherbets. They even offer sugar-free options for diabetics. The patient and friendly staff will help you make your choice. We recommend ordering Blueberry Pie, Moose Tracks, or Butter Pecan and enjoying it with your family out on their patio.
