There are also public bathrooms and tennis and basketball courts, so you can easily spend the entire day picnicking and engaging in fun outdoor activities with the family. With a central location and ample parking, Goodale Park is a must-see in Columbus.
2. Glen Echo Park
Visit Glen Echo Park at 510 Cliffside Drive if you want to get your nature fix without ever leaving the city. Although this park is right in Columbus, it’s set in a small ravine, so it feels like you’re worlds away from the big city!
You’ll find plenty of paved and well-maintained paths, some winding trails, and plenty of lovely trees that provide the perfect amount of shade for your family picnic. There are also some picnic tables scattered around the park where you can spread out and have a nice sit-down lunch.
3. Schiller Park
Schiller Park, at 1069 Jaeger Street, is in the heart of Columbus’ German Village, featuring plenty of lovely fountains, a pond, and plenty of wildlife. You can picnic right near the park and enjoy the splendid views and plenty of friendly ducks and geese, or near the park’s huge amphitheater and playground. This is a great family-friendly park with unique outdoor art and plenty of sculptures to enjoy before or after your meal.
4. The Topiary Park
Check out The Topiary Park at 480 E. Town Street if you want to picnic amongst some of Columbus’ best shrub art, great green spaces, and a pleasant little pond to enjoy. The park has so many interesting areas to explore and plenty of shady spots to enjoy your picnic. There are also many benches in the park where you can sit, enjoy a coffee, and get a good dose of the great outdoors while in Columbus.
